  1. In the first senryu, I used Katakana for ウルトラマン because that is the name of a Japanese superhero. In the second senryu, I used ダン as an onomatopoeia for the sound that a kendama (a japanese toy) would make when you fail at it. In the last senryu, although ワンワン is the sound that a dog makes, I used it to mean a dog. The last line "ナンバーワン!" is all in English, which is why I put the entire line in Katakana. The effect of the Katakana in these senryu is that it makes the flow of the poems better. It also stands out a little more to bring attention to the subjects and important parts of the senryu.

  2. The third senryu is my favorite. It was creative how you chose to use the sound a dog makes in japanese to mean the actual dog. Plus the whole poem was creative. That dog looks so happy too. He totally won.
